DuraLac® H
DuraLac® H is made by roller-drying a lactose solution at high temperature. The crystals of lactose crystals contain β-anhydrous lactose and α-anhydrous lactose at approximately 80% and 20%, respectively. During the crystallization of anhydrous lactose, no water is bound in the crystal lattice, and only non-hygroscopic anhydrous substances are formed. Anhydrous lactose after drum drying is milled and sieved to the required particle size distribution, and powder flowability and compactness are optimized. DuraLac® H is ideal for direct compression and dry granulation due to brittle fracture during deformation during compaction.
