FlowLac® 90
Moisture evaporates quickly and lactose forms amorphous lactose during spray drying. Among the commercially available products, spray-dried lactose retained 10-15% of amorphous lactose during the manufacturing process, depending on the solid content and spray-drying process.
Compared to crystalline alpha-monohydrate, FlowLac® is more compressible. Unlike α, β-lactose monohydrate, which undergoes brittle deformation during compression, amorphous lactose has the characteristics of plastic deformation. Therefore, the synergistic effect of plastic deformation and brittle deformation of two lactoses in spray-dried lactose makes FlowLac® extremely compressible.
FlowLac® 90 is a more compressible product based on FlowLac® 100, which optimizes the proportion of amorphous lactose in it. In addition, FlowLac® 90 has a very narrow particle size distribution with almost no fine powder.
